Sustainability

ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY

You can put your mind at ease! Quality Floors Limited ticks all the green boxes.

1. PEFC Certification
All timbers QualityFloors uses are from certified sustainable sources!

PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation which promotes sustainable managed forests through independent third party certification. This offers customers and consumers the option to choose products from environmentally and socially responsible and economically viable forestry.

You can download the PEFC certificate here.

2. M1 (Emission Classification of Building Materials)
All Karelia products are in accordance with the M1 emission classification (low VOC, formaldehyde, etc).

The aim of the M1 emission classification is to enhance the development and use of low-emitting building materials. All lacquers Karelia uses are solvent free and do not contain formaldehyde.

You can download the M1 certificate here.

3. ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems)
The manufacturer of Karelia timber floors is ISO 14001 certified.

This certification exists to help organisations minimise how their operations negatively affect the environment. In order for a company to be awarded an ISO 14001 certificate, they must be externally audited by and audit body that has been accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service).

You can download the ISO 14001 certificate here.

Quality Floors Conform to All CE Standards

The European Union strives to ensure that products sold within Europe meet a number of strict requirements regarding safety, health, environment and consumer protection. These demands it describes in a number of standards, known as the CE standards. The standard relating to wooden flooring is CE norm EN 14342.
This standard requires that floors are tested and comply with the conditions imposed on reaction to fire, formaldehyde emission, VOC emission, the presence of PCP and biological durability. Furthermore, a manufacturer can also perform tests to monitor the thermal conductivity, the slipperiness and the flexural strength of its floors. That, Lalegno did for several floors.

A detailed performance certificate (DOP) is available and is part of the data sheet, which has been included on our website for each of our floors.

All Lalegno floors fully comply with CE standards.
