ROYAL PLANK INSTALLATION

As Royalplank requires sanding after installation, it must be glued down.

Although Royalplank can be installed as a DIY project, we do recommend using a professional for sanding and finishing. Feel free to contact us for recommendations.

RoyalPlank™ - “Our Oak, your finish”
Specifications:
  • 2200mm long x 220mm wide x 17mm thick
  • 20% random length
  • Top layer European Oak, unfinished, 5 mm thick
  • ABC & Classic grade
  • Base plywood
  • NO bevelled edge
  • T&G
  • Suitable for underfloor heating
  • Glue down installation only – trowel method
  • 1.936m² per box
Installation recommendation:
  • All subfloors must be level to industry standards
  • No acclimatizing is necessary – open the packs just prior to installation
  • If installed over a concrete slab the slab has to be level, cured and dry. A moisture barrier must be applied according to the manufacture’s recommendations
  • RoyalPlank™ must get installed as a glue down installation only
  • We recommend industry standard adhesives (Selleys, SIKA, Bostik or similar) which should get trowled onto the subfloor
  • No adhesive needs to get applied between the tongue and groove
  • Please make sure to leave sufficient expansion gaps around the parameters
  • After the installation the installed area must get weighted overnight
  • RoyalPlank™ must settle for at least 7 days before it gets sanded and coated
  • We recommend common oils and polyurethanes from the industry to finish off RoyalPlank™
Disclaimer:
It is the installers/owners responsibility to determine if the sub-floor is acceptable for the timber flooring installation. Quality Floors Ltd (QFL) is not responsible for timber flooring failure due to sub-floor deficiencies or lack of preparation. RoyalPlank is a natural wood product. Therefore natural variations in colour, tone and grain are to expect. It is the installers or owners responsibility to inspect each RoyalPlank board carefully before installation.
QFL does not take responsibility for boards with visible defects once they are installed. OFL will not take any responsibility for moisture issues caused by the subfloor, plumber or faulty appliances. QFL can not hold liable for any installation related potential issues e.g. expansion, coating method, etc.
